Olderhill GSD breeders Susan Spencer and Julie Prinsloo

This is us in 1994 visiting England: Susan Spencer (that's me) in the middle and Julie Prinsloo on the right. Mo Penfold (pictured left) and Jim Baker (taking the photo!) of the Sussex police had just given us a brilliant tracking demonstration with their Olderhill police dogs who raced along a 3 hour old track and picked up about 10 articles.

Our Olderhill GSD pack in Pretoria, South Africa

We ended up with a pack of about 50 Olderhills! There's a VIDEO of our dogs running after our quad bike in the African bush on our Facebook page.

We do not breed many puppies nowadays, but here is Julie with one of our bitches and her puppies a few years ago.

What else we do

Rescue animals

We've rescued animals for as long as we've bred Olderhills. We've rescued, trained and rehomed many thousands of dogs. That's how we became such good dog trainers. Our website is www.petlink-up.webnode.com

Expert dog trainers

We are unique dog trainers. We can train a dog WHO HAS NEVER BEEN ON A LEAD BEFORE to track anything in 20 MINUTES! And we"ve trained many people to track with their dogs in this time too. We and the people we have taught have successfully tracked rhino poachers and other criminals and wounded animals.

Tracking e-book

I have written an e-book on how to teach your dog to track in 20 minutes. Tracking teaches humans and dogs to communicate and is the foundation of all our dog training. We taught one man and his 12 week old cocker spaniel bitch to track and he not only tracked livestock thieves with her but also found drugs in a house with her WITH NO FURTHER TRAINING.

Breeders of Kangal dogs (similar to Anatolian shepherds)

We fell in love with Kangals several years ago and have bred a few litters of them. They are HUGE dogs bred since Mesopotamian times in Turkey and surrounding areas to guard sheep and goats and children from wolves and bears. They are born to love and protect them even if they don't grow up with them.

Breeders of Macaws

We've had a pair of pet macaws for nearly as long as our Olderhills, but for the last 10 years they've had chicks. We kept most of them but are now selling the new ones. Our chicks are parent-reared to 8 weeks and then we hand-feed them until they go to their new families. We have lovely VIDEOS on our Facebook page.

Breeders of Galah Cockatoos

We've had a pair of galah cockatoos almost as long as our macaw pair. We also kept many of their chicks but are now selling the new ones.
